Lucien Chen: The Thinking Behind Game Design

It has been held for three times: two times for on-site workshops and one time for online workshop.

From the 5 steps of design thinking (empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test) to soft and hard skills, Lucien shared his experiences of designing games and solving problems. His working experience with big international companies are different from working with companies in Taiwan, but it brings new thoughts for the attendees.

◆Speaker: Lucien Chen

Lucien Chen is a Level Designer at Swedish company King and working on the famous mobile game Candy Crush. He has been a Game Designer over 10 years, he worked at EA, Sony PlayStation VR, Storm 8 ... etc, and has worked on a variety of projects on Mobile, Console, VR, and AR. His own game Anamorphosis was nominated at SENSE OF WONDER NIGHT (Tokyo Game Show 2015.) He was also invited to be the speaker at 2020 Game Developers Conference and 2020 Taipei Game Developers Forum.

講師介紹

👩🏻‍🎨 Lucien Chen

土生土長歹丸狼(台灣人),現居瑞典斯德哥爾摩。
現任職於手機遊戲公司King
負責為全球知名手機遊戲 Candy Crush 系列作品擔任資深遊戲與關卡設計師。

從小學畫畫,立志進入遊戲產業
大學就讀全台第一所遊戲開發相關科系。
畢業後前往於美國匹茲堡
於卡內基美濃大學娛樂科技中心研究所
(Carnegie Mellon University - Entertainment Technology Center)
攻讀遊戲設計與開發。

曾任職於美國多家知名遊戲公司
包含Electronic Arts (美商藝電)、SONY PlayStation、Storm8... 等。
旅外10年的遊戲開發經驗
曾參與過各種不同平台的遊戲開發:Console、PC、Moible、VR、AR... 等。

曾以獨立開發作品 Anamorphosis(暫譯: 幻境奇繪)
入圍2015年東京電玩展 SENSE OF WONDER NIGHT 決賽
獲得外國遊戲媒體(Gamasutra、Rock Paper Shotgun...etc)的關注與報導。
於2020年獲邀參加於美國加州遊戲開發者大會(Game Developers Conference)
與台北遊戲開發者論壇(TGDF,Taipei Game Developers Forum)擔任講者。
